If you enjoy the contact with nature, Agrigento and its country  are really for you. Thanks to beautiful green areas, places of sea and nature reserves, you have many possibilities to relax and enjoy fascinating excursions. At the western end of the Archaeological Park of the Valley of Temples, near the Temple of Castor and Pollux (Dioscuri), you enter in the Garden of Kolymbetra: a great natural Valley used by  the ancient Greeks  as water reservoir.

In the 5th century b.c. had the appearance of a magnificent lake populated by fish, swans and lacustrine vegetation. Set that period of great splendour, it began to dry up and was abandoned to oblivion for centuries. Today it was recovered from FAI, which made it a green oasis, by restoring the original plants and ancient cultivations  to give visitors the emotion of a unique place.

If you wish to spend a beautiful day on the beach, we suggest  the nearby San Leone: a long coastline of Golden Beach, at 4 km from the hotel, where you will find an equipped  lido conventioned with the Hotel at your disposal. San Leone is the seaside centre of Agrigento, which  is very  popular in summer for the sea during the day and in the evening for the many pubs and restaurants  where you can drink, eat, listen to music throughout the night.

At  about 13 km from Agrigento, in Realmonte, there is another sea place not to be missed, the Scala dei Turchi: a huge and natural stepped cliffs  that draws on a scenic flight over the sea. Further, at  about 25 km from Agrigento, is  Siculiana  from where you can reach the natural reserve of Torre Salsa, managed by the WWF. This reserve includes a long stretch of pristine coastline, rich in fauna and flora, where still today the famous sea turtles "Caretta Caretta" lay eggs.

Just a few km from the natural reserve of Torre Salsa, don't miss going to Siculiana Marina: a seaside resort among the finest of the agrigentine coast beach. If you love seeing  some rare natural phenomena, at about 16 km from Agrigento, in  Aragona, is the natural reserve of the «Macalube»: a hilly area handled by Legambiente. Here you can see the  rare phenomenon consisting of hundreds of cold mud vulcanelli high from a few centimeters to a meter, from which brackish water bubbling out, like in a lunar landscape.

The Hotel Kore's Reception staff will be pleased to offer you  all directions, maps and information for this route.

San Leone Lido is at 4 km distance from the hotel.
